You are making her an outfit for crying out loud and I can only imagine you are also making invitations. I come from a family whose greatest skill finding the cheapest vendor or going without.

Hope she has a great party!Erikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16169659895652699244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481352610974991.post-6373736289030317822010-02-28T16:32:26.677-06:002010-02-28T16:32:26.677-06:00Ooh I never thought of kids' meal toys. We don't buy them when we go out to eat, but they are usually free (still in bags) at yard sales!Sadiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05681377865295537006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481352610974991.post-88587500132182181622010-02-28T09:31:26.268-06:002010-02-28T09:31:26.268-06:00another idea...save all the little toys you get fr...another idea...save all the little toys you get from kids meals....and use them for your goodie bags...Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11745604261113221887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481352610974991.post-24384475588741686272010-02-28T09:30:44.843-06:002010-02-28T09:30:44.843-06:00good hints...my kids favorite parties were the hom...good hints...my kids favorite parties were the home parties...with more imagination than money being spent...their friends enjoyed them also...Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11745604261113221887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481352610974991.post-49987246542473730012010-02-28T07:14:46.016-06:002010-02-28T07:14:46.016-06:00I love planning birthday parties. I am known as the "Queen of Birthday Parties", when I take the time to plan I end up spending very little, but when I get rushed because I have Halloween, a Birthday, Girl Scout Cookie Sales (Troop Cookie Mom and SU Cookie Gal), a Homecoming event...... it can get a bit more pricey (or not), and the kids still have a lot of fun.
I make sure the kids have plenty to do and lots of time several things don't get done. I also don't do treat bags (because I am not a candy fan), instead I pick a couple of activity/crafts for them to do to take when they go home, I have never had a complaint about doing it this way.
Currently I am working on a Club theme for my to be 12 year old and we are trying to keep it cool (Its CLUB ICE afterall) and keep it in the budget. Decor and Sound is already covered from that which we have, and we were just given a bunch of white gift bags which we are going to decorate up for swag bags. We are going to use bottle caps (metal kind) to make magnetic buttons (this has to work for boys and girls) and I think we are going to come up with a photo frame from recycled materials in the ICE theme.
Food is being kept simple: Mini Burgers (so simple and fun), Ice bowl of fruit salad, salsa (homemade - cause the kids love my salsa) and pita chips. Why so lite? They are going to be dancing all night long. Cake (my DD doesn't like traditional cake) so we are doing frozen cupcakes made of ice cream and cookie dough (no egg).Tree Huggin Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08473115182978929738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481352610974991.post-8861089508956328512010-02-27T20:54:08.773-06:002010-02-27T20:54:08.773-06:00Thanks. But Their birthdays are all in the winter so it is too cold to have an outdoor party , my house is too small to invite guests , and most years I haven't had the money to do a party. They get to come with me each year and choose their own cake though. Or some years they have just got to help me make a cake if I couldn't buy one. Here is hoping to one day , that they can each have a great party :DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15274802778761437150noreply@blogger.com
